POI’s are preset public locations with set geo-coordinates in our database, for instance, airports, car dealerships, banks, and restaurants. POI’s can be searched without having to know exact addresses. POI’s include a latitude/longitude and can have a set distance from the center of the POI’s. We have two types of POI’s methodology: we use either a Centroid or a Polygon.
Centroid
A centroid is a center point from the POI going out to a set distance using a circle. These are good for general knowledge or to understand how much activity is near or around a particular POI.
Polygon
A polygon is a custom mapping of the POI which can have an odd shape or be the walls or property lines of a particular building/property like a large casino, resort, golf course, etc. These are good for doing deeper analysis into the POI or needing to know how much activity is inside a particular POI boundary line.
Placekey POI
Placekey is a universal standard identifier for any physical place, so that the data pertaining to those places can be shared across organizations easily.
Public POI’s
Intuizi™ contains a large number of public POI’s that are available to choose from based on the license you purchase which can be sorted by category, address, or other sort fields available in the Intuizi™ Database.
